Position Summary

Indiana University Northwest, Health Information Management Programs, is accepting applications for a 10-month, clinical lecturer or clinical assistant professor beginning August 1, 2018. Teaching responsibilities include teaching 4 courses per semester; developing instructional materials; assessing course effectiveness through student evaluations; and curricular revisions to meet CAHIIM accreditation requirements. Service responsibilities include advising current and prospective students; participating in student recruitment efforts; assisting in the processing of student applications for admission to the programs; serving on department, division, campus, and university committees; providing input into program mission, goals, program development, and participating in professional organizations and formal/informal learning activities.

One of eight campuses of Indiana University, IU Northwest is located in metropolitan Northwest Indiana, approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago and 10 miles from the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Basic Qualifications

Required qualifications for Category of Clinical Lecturer: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential or a commitment to obtain within 1 year of appointment. A Baccalaureate degree, with the commitment to complete a Master’s Degree in a related academic discipline within 3 years of appointment. Upon successful completion of the RHIA credential within 1 year of appointment and the Master’s Degree within the 3 years of appointment, the category of employment will change to Clinical Assistant Professor.

Required qualifications of the Category of Clinical Assistant Professor: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential and a Master’s Degree in a related academic discipline.
