Position Summary

The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a senior tenure-track faculty position in Double Bass. The successful candidate will have an extensive and successful background as a performer and teacher, including professional orchestral experience, will be able to work effectively with faculty colleagues, and will be able to inspire very gifted students in a highly competitive and professionally-oriented educational environment. Responsibilities: Teach double bass in all degree and diploma programs, including freshmen through doctoral levels; may teach chamber music and orchestral studies if mutually agreeable. Participation in department service and recruitment activities, and school-wide committees, is expected.

Basic Qualifications

Extensive performing experience, including professional orchestral experience, and teaching experience at the very highest levels of the profession. Advanced degrees preferred; equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.

Additional Qualifications
Salary and Rank Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The committee seeks to recommend a candidate whose qualifications justify appointment at the level of associate or full professor.
