Position Summary

Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) – Northwest-Gary, one of eight regional campuses in the IUSM statewide system, invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non-tenure track, 12-month teaching appointment in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with at least three (3) years of postdoctoral experience is desirable. Successful candidates will report directly to the Center Director and will assist in the teaching of Human Structure, a multidisciplinary course comprising gross anatomy, radiology, histology and embryology. Responsibilities will include leadership in teaching, design of content, preparation of course materials, supervision of student dissection in the gross anatomy laboratory, presentation of lectures, facilitation of small group learning sessions, continuous review and improvement of the curriculum, and maintaining a broad knowledge of up-to-date scholarship in relevant fields to insure that course content is current and meets or exceeds the standards expected by the University. The candidate may also, at the Director’s discretion, perform service for the campus or school and engage in additional academic duties and student mentoring.
