Position Summary

The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana University invites applications for three full-time non-tenure track Lecturer positions to teach Research Courses and complete programmatic activities as part of its innovative science education Program for Undergraduate Research Engagement (PURE). PURE merges the teaching and research missions of the university by engaging freshman undergraduates in research related to a faculty member’s ongoing research. Responsibilities include teaching research-based courses, managing a fast-paced undergraduate research laboratory, and coordinating research- and teaching-related activities. The position also includes programmatic responsibilities such as course and curriculum planning, student recruitment, and program outreach.

Basic Qualifications

Ph.D. in an area of Biology required. Experience in field ecology, microbiology, cell biology, and/or bioinformatics will be advantageous. Postdoctoral training is a plus but not required. Strong communication and organizational skills, and documented evidence of independent classroom and laboratory teaching ability are also beneficial.
