Open Rank Tenure Track Faculty Position in Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research

The Stark Neurosciences Research Institute (SNRI) at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), Indianapolis is seeking an outstanding investigator for a tenure-track faculty position in the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Group (SCBIRG). Primary faculty appointments will be within Departments in the SNRI (Department of Neurological Surgery, Department of Psychiatry, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology and others). Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
Of particular interest are candidates with one or more of the following expertise in spinal cord and brain injury research: 1) molecular mechanisms underlying axonal guidance, neural plasticity and regeneration, 2) adaptive and innate immunity, 3) cell death mechanisms and neurodegeneration, 4) imaging and biomarkers, 5) autonomic dysfunction.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, at least several years of postdoctoral experience, a history of high quality publications and preferably some grant funding. Clinician scientists are particularly encouraged to apply for this position. Candidates will be expected to develop a successful, funded research program, contribute to the interactive environment in the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Group and participate in graduate and medical student training. Exceptional resources include a generous startup package, ample lab space in the new Neurosciences Research Building, and access to excellent core facilities including genomics, proteomics, flow cytometry, microscopy, viral vector generation, transgenic facilities, multi-photon microscopy, and small animal functional imaging.
