Position Summary

The School of Art, Architecture + Design (https://soaad.indiana.edu/) invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track or tenured position with rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Sculpture, to begin in the fall 2018. We are seeking candidates with a strong exhibition record, active research and studio practice, and demonstrated professional achievement; evidence of teaching experience, and qualification to engage and communicate with students at BA, BFA, and MFA levels; ability to work successfully with students, faculty, administration and the community. The successful candidate will play a major role in the development of a vibrant and evolving sculpture curriculum and should expect to participate in ongoing efforts to facilitate experimental and innovative approaches to contemporary discourse and practice. The department seeks applicants with diverse knowledge of contemporary sculpture practices and critical theory, as well as a working knowledge of traditional processes. Knowledge of current safety and health standards and excellent communication skills are also required.

Basic Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have an MFA by the start date of employment. At least three years of teaching experience past the MFA is required. Evidence of an active exhibition record and professional achievement is paramount.
