Position Summary

The Indiana University School of Medicine South Bend (IUSM SB) invites applications from outstanding individuals for a non-tenure track, 12-month teaching appointment at the Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor level. Successful candidates will report directly to the Center Director and be responsible for teaching and coordinating instruction related to ethics, communication, health disparities and other content related to the human dimension of medicine across the foundational sciences curriculum. This position will also coordinate interprofessional education initiatives for the IUSM-SB campus. Responsibilities will include design of and responsibility for content, preparation of course materials, presentation of lectures and facilitation of small group learning sessions, continuous review and improvement of the curriculum, and maintaining a broad knowledge of up-to-date scholarship in relevant fields to insure that course content is current and meets or exceeds the standards expected by the University. The successful candidate will also possess a suitable background in course administration and be able to serve effectively as part of the statewide course management teams as needed. The position may also include, at the Director’s discretion, opportunities for research and scholarship in medical education or other areas relevant to the candidate’s academic discipline.

Basic Qualifications

A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with at least three (3) years of teaching experience is desirable.
