Position Summary

The IU Southeast Library invites applications for an Assistant Librarian to start during the Fall of 2017. This is a permanent tenure track position. Candidates must have an MLS, MLIS, or MS from an ALA-accredited program.

Leading and supervising all Access Services operations (e.g., circulation, reserves, interlibrary loan/document delivery, stacks maintenance); developing and implementing Access Services policies and procedures.
Serving as Assurance Project Manager for the IU Southeast HLC regional accreditation process, in collaboration with the campus Accreditation Planning Committee, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. This entails developing and implementing policies and processes for gathering and organizing accreditation evidence files and ensuring compliance with HLC Assurance System standards and protocols.
Active participation in the Library’s reference and instruction program, collection development, student engagement and outreach scheduled evening and weekend rotations; other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

An ALA-accredited master’s degree in library science; Experience and/or educational background in Library Access Services; Experience with and familiarity with the HLC Assurance System; Excellent written, oral, and social media communication skills; Commitment to professional development appropriate for promotion and tenure; Expertise in relevant technologies; The ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment

• Supervisory experience
