Position Summary

The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is seeking a highly motivated applicant to research at the Indiana University School of Medicine which is located in Indianapolis, IN.

The Research Associate will carry out the industry sponsored clinical trial for medical device, including IRB protocol, instrument management, data collection, coordination with other members; Research Associate will also carry out cellular, molecular biology and biochemistry experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator in the laboratory for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Normal lab supply requisition and management is also required.

Duties include:
-Clinical Research Projects
-Leukemia Cell Banking and other cellular or molecular experiments
-Lab supply orders and management of lab equipment
-Other Duties As Assigned

Basic Qualifications

Master Degree of Science or Biology, M.D or Ph.D is preferred.

2-3 years of research associate or postdoc experience at biomedical laboratory and knowledge of basic cellular and molecular techniques.

Ability to work both independently as well as within a team environment. Self-starter able to take direction, pay attention to the details and work under deadlines

Strong background in hematology, medical device knowledge is strongly preferred

Strong knowledge and skills in cellular biology ( such as mammalian cell line culture, primary cell isolation and culture, stem cell differentiation, colony assay, proliferation, apoptosis and flow cytometry assay…)

Strong knowledge and skills in molecular biology (such as DNA or RNA extraction, PCR or RT-PCR, gene transfection, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis, western blotting, immunoprecipitation…)
