Position Summary

The Indiana University Department of Health Sciences, in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Science, is currently accepting applications for a full¬time, faculty position to serve as Director of the Undergraduate Studies. This is a tenure eligible faculty position at the Associate Professor level. We invite qualified applicants to consider the unique opportunity to become the leader of a dynamic interprofessional faculty and staff focused on preparing the next generation of health science professionals.

This new position of Director of Undergraduate Studies is being created in response to growth in undergraduate education. The individual in this senior level position will provide the vision and leadership necessary to develop and oversee innovative, high quality undergraduate initiatives that are consistent with the college and university mission, are responsive to trends in health care education and practice, and provide students with the knowledge and experiences necessary for success academically and as health care professionals.

Primary duties of this position include: overall program administration of the Bachelor of Science in Health Science including course scheduling and part-time faculty recruitment; building synergies among multiple units and strategically growing a cohesive academic community that is committed to high quality instruction; advancing the goals and promoting innovative action in the creation of programs, services, and processes for improvement of student engagement and success; supervising undergraduate advising and career services; and collaborating with multiple administrative units including the Office of the Associate Vice-Chancellor for Undergraduate Education as they pertain to the seamless integration of curricular and co¬curricular experience, growth, assessment, and effectiveness of the unit.

Basic Qualifications

Required qualifications:
- Eligible for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor
- Hold on earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience in a fulltime academic appointment with teaching responsibilities
