Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology Research Group is looking for an Assistant Research Professor. The Nephrology Research Group is a program dedicated to improving the diagnosis and management of pediatric kidney disease through novel research and multidisciplinary clinical care. The program focuses on renal tubular physiology and innate immune system abnormalities that contribute to disease. The areas of interest are prognostic (disease mechanisms), diagnostic (biomarkers) and novel therapeutics to impact the clinical care of the children kidney disease.
This position will conduct research on renal innate immunity, acid base physiology and kidney stones. This position will perform and/or oversee patient-oriented biomarker analyses and will pursue mechanistic studies both in vitro and in vivo. Also, will be required to collaborate with lab members and facilitate coordination of projects, as well as directing specific aspects of training for members of the lab. Must be able to formulate hypotheses and independently design and troubleshoot experiments. Requires good written English skills.

Basic Qualifications

Successful candidates must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD with strong research background in tubular physiology and immunology. Experience with flow cytometry and murine models is welcomed.
