Position Summary

The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics of the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking applications from outstanding candidates with an M.D., M.D./PhD, or PhD for the position of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Medical & Molecular Genetics. Additionally, this person will also serve as the Co-Director of the Cytogenetics Laboratory. Academic appointment is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate must be ABMG Board Certified in Clinical Cytogenetics. Training in clinical molecular genetics is desirable.

The IU Cytogenetics Laboratory is a full-service, state-of-the art laboratory offering diagnostic services for prenatal testing, constitutional blood and tissue studies, bone marrow, solid tumor cytogenetics, and FISH. The laboratory also has a section dedicated to chromosomal microarray testing (CMA). The new Director will be expected to assist in assay development and opportunities for implementing new technology. Other duties will include reviewing and signing-out cytogenetic and CMA cases, trouble-shooting technical problems, and teaching graduate and medical students as well as residents and fellows. Strong organizational and administrative skills are desireable.

Basic Qualifications

M.D., M.D./PhD, or PhD

The successful candidate must be ABMG Board Certified in Clinical Cytogenetics. Training in clinical molecular genetics is desirable.
