Position Summary

Reporting to the dean, the department chair is responsible for the vision, leadership, and administration of the educational, research, and service programs, including promoting interprofessional education and practice, program evaluation, recruiting and developing faculty and staff, fiscal planning, strategic planning, and goal setting for the department in conjunction with the school and university strategic plans.

Basic Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Eligible for appointment at the rank of associate or full professor
Hold an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution
Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fulltime academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the post baccalaureate level
Have publications in peer-reviewed journals, and evidence of external funding and administrative experience
Have familiarity with OT accreditation
Be eligible or hold licensure in occupational therapy

Additional Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:
An earned PhD
Supervisory experience
Strong collaborative interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive and effective relationships across the academic institution with multiple constituencies, mentor graduate students and junior faculty, and promote excellence in classroom/clinical teaching
A demonstrated commitment to diversity
Prior experience developing, managing and evaluating entry-level and post professional doctor of occupational therapy programs.
