Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Pulmonary Inflammation, Asthma and Allergic Diseases Research Group within the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research, is looking for an Assistant Research Professor. Pulmonary Inflammation, Asthma and Allergic Diseases Research Group is a program dedicated to elucidating the pathophysiology and improving the diagnosis and management of asthma and allergy through novel multidisciplinary research. The program focuses on immunological basis of asthma, allergy and autoimmune diseases. The areas of interest are the development and function of T helper cells and regulatory T cells, and how the interactions between these immune cells determine the development and sustention of the diseases.

This position will conduct research on the immunological basis of asthma, allergy and autoimmunity, as well as developing mouse models and performing functional analyses. This position will perform and/or oversee mechanistic studies of these diseases both in vitro and in vivo. Also, will be required to collaborate with lab members and facilitate coordination of projects, as well as directing specific aspects of training for members of the lab. Must be able to formulate hypotheses and independently design and troubleshoot experiments. Requires good written English skills.

Basic Qualifications

Successful candidates must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD with strong research background in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Genetics.
