Position Summary

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology of the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana will be hiring a Research Associate to investigate the biology regulating blood stem cells and their microenvironment in response to stress induced by age, radiation exposure or diabetes. The suppliant will also perform services necessary to maintain the laboratory and meet its research objectives.

Basic Qualifications

The position requires a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology and at least 3 years of training/experience in homeostatic and stressed stem cells, particularly flow cytometric methods for detecting stem and stromal cell populations and molecular analysis of their function. Experience in development of congenic mouse models of analysis of stem cell function and creation of reporter mouse strains is required.
Good communication skills (speaking and writing English) is necessary.
