Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics and the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research is recruiting for multiple faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The research focus for these positions will be on pediatric solid tumors with emphasis on therapeutic and translational research using relevant animal models. We are particularly interested, but not exclusively, in expanding our research program in areas of osteosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma and/or rhabdomyosarcoma.

Laboratory space will be in the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research ( New faculty will be provided with generous start-up packages and laboratory space. New faculty will join an active multi-disciplinary research community spanning the departments of pediatrics, orthopedics and pediatric hematology/oncology with a strong collaborative atmosphere. Applicants will also be a member of the NCI designated IU Simon Cancer Center. Candidates with a research interest in Ewing’s sarcoma and/or osteosarcoma could also have joint appointments with the Department of Orthopaedics and have resources through membership in the Indiana Center for Musculoskeletal Health.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates will have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD and must have a strong research background. Current independent funding is encouraged, but not required. MD faculty will have protected time for research activities.
