The Department of Psychology seeks to conduct a search for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology for the 2017-2018 academic year. This is a one-year appointment and the position is a 10-month per year term.. The successful candidate will teach General Psychology, Neuroscience, Sensation and Perception, Drugs and the Nervous System, Experimental Psychology, and other courses in his/her area of expertise as well as supervise undergraduate research. The ability to teach courses in statistics and learning is desirable, as is
experience supervising undergraduate research and experience using teaching technologies.

Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester; maintaining an active, productive research program that fully involves undergraduate students; contributing to the assessment of the psychology major and student learning outcomes; and engaging in campus initiatives to increase retention and enrollment, as well as being active in service to the department and engaging in service to the campus as a whole.

Basic Qualifications

Requirements include a doctoral degree in psychology or a closely related field, such as behavioral neuroscience (ABD candidates will be considered), face-to-face teaching experience at the undergraduate college level, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in student-centered learning and collaboration, as well as interest and/or experience in developing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
