The Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension at Riley Hospital for Children at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis is seeking applicants as an Assistant/Associate Professor on the clinical track. The Division provides care for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired acute and chronic renal diseases. Pediatric Nephrology has an active outpatient practice, including chronic CAPD/CCPD and hemodialysis, and a dedicated kidney transplant follow-up clinic. We also have an active inpatient service, provide subspeciality consultation, and have acute peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis and CVVH programs. Riley Hospital is ranked 11th as a Children’s Hospital (Child Magazine) and has highly academic residency programs in Pediatrics, Medicine-Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine-Pediatrics and Psychiatry-Pediatrics (total 150 residents). The Department of Pediatrics has extensive NIH funding (#10 for pediatric departments in 2007) for basic, translational and clinical research, and there is ample opportunity for collaborative studies in the School of Medicine. The Division of Pediatric Nephrology and Hypertension actively participates in the CKiDS and FSGS national clinical trials as well as other national research collaborative efforts. We also participate in several translational and clinical studies via the Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Consortium. Indianapolis is the 12th largest city in the country and offers outstanding cultural, educational, sports and other recreational activities. Candidates must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Nephrology Medicine with the American Board of Pediatrics and have a Certificate of Completion from an Accredited Nephrology Medicine Training Program or equivalent .
