Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Rheumatology is recruiting an Assistant/Associate Professor on the tenure track. The successful candidate will provide rheumatology consultative care for inpatients and outpatients, and will be an active participant in the division’s educational programs at the levels of medical students, pediatric residents, post-doctoral fellows and peer continuing medical education. Applicants should have evidence of excellent research credentials and training, including high impact publications.

Clinical service will include: In-patient consultative care for children with rheumatic disease or in whom autoimmune disease is suspected at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health and 6-7 half-days of outpatient subspecialty clinic either at the Riley Outpatient Center or at the Riley Children’s Physicians offices at IU North in Carmel, IN. Call expectations will be similar to other full time faculty at Riley and will include weeknights and weekends. The physician will participate actively in the Resident and Fellow educational programs in the Section of Rheumatology and Department of Pediatrics. There are ample opportunities to be involved advocacy efforts and out-reach education in the division.

The Division of Rheumatology at Indiana University School of Medicine is the only pediatric rheumatology program in the state of Indiana. We provide care to children from all neighboring states, as well.

Basic Qualifications

The candidate must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Rheumatology and in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics; the candidate must have a Certificate of Completion from an Accredited Pediatric Rheumatology Training Program or equivalent and have strong references attesting to candidate’s fund of knowledge, clinical ethics, professionalism and interpersonal skills.
