The Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) located in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking applications for an Associate Director of the Proteomics Core. The IUSM proteomics core is equipped with various LC-MS/MS systems including a Thermo Fusion Lumos with ETD. More details about the core can be found here: http://proteomics.iu.edu/. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field and extensive experience in the application of mass spectrometry to biological systems. The Associate Director will work closely with the Core Director and serve as the primary interface between users and the experimental platforms.
The Associate Director’s duties will include: helping users with experimental design, performing and troubleshooting proteomics experiments, maintaining the core instrumentation, developing methods for user projects, and analyzing proteomics data. Expertise in LC-MS approaches and associated bioinformatics and strong communication skills are required. A strong publication record with evidence of collaborative publications is desired in one or more of the following areas: quantitative analysis of protein levels, global analysis of post-translational modifications, top-down/middle-down mass spectrometry, chemo-proteomics, and/or affinity purification-mass spectrometry. Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field and extensive experience in the application of mass spectrometry to biological systems. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience.
