Position Summary

The Jacobs School of Music seeks a candidate for a tenure-track position in the Organ Department; both senior and junior applicants will be considered. The successful candidate will be an accomplished organist and teacher who demonstrates strong pedagogical skill both as a studio organ instructor and in courses devoted to a variety of disciplines associated with organ performance and sacred music, will be able to work collegially with other faculty, and will be able to inspire gifted young organists in a professionally-oriented educational environment.
Responsibilities:
Teach courses related to organ and sacred music and studio instruction of organists in all degree and diploma programs, including freshman through doctoral levels. Service on departmental hearing committees, doctoral committees, participation in recruitment, and service on Jacobs School committees is expected.

Basic Qualifications

Senior candidates: artist/teacher of national/international prominence with demonstrated abilities as a performer and teacher. Junior candidates: an emerging national/international reputation as a performer and teacher. Master’s degree required, doctorate preferred. Equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.

Salary and Rank Commensurate with qualifications and experience. The committee will consider both junior and senior applicants and may recommend appointment at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor.
