The Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a two-year, full-time visiting position in music theory for the academic years 2017-2019. The resident scholar will teach one course per semester, and during the first year will also offer a series of workshops in their area of expertise. In addition, they will be expected to conduct an active program of research, resulting in attendance at and participation in scholarly conferences, the submission of articles to academic journals, or other appropriate projects.
A completed Ph.D. degree in music is required. Candidates must have completed the Ph.D. from an institution other than Indiana University no later than August 1, 2017, but no earlier than five years prior to that date.

|Salary and Rank||Visiting Assistant Professor; salary is $42,700 with an annual $2,000 research and travel budget, and eligibility for the health and retirement benefits available to all full‐time faculty.|
